This Quick Popcorn Review was taken from the Top Ten Will Ferrell Movies List:
It’s unfortunate that the title of this movie alludes to just the two step brothers in the movie played famously by Will Ferrell and John C. Reily, because despite that fact, and the fact that this review is being written as a part of a Top Ten Will Ferrell list, I found the third brother played by Adam Scott, to really steal this movie. Steal the movie…ok maybe a bit much, but certainly add some of the most hilarious bits to this all around hilarious comedy. Playing the bastardy brother of Brennan (Will Ferrell) he dictates his family’s performance of Sweet Child of Mine while driving over to his father’s home to be an absolute dick to his brother. The antics that Johnny C. and Willy get into throughout the movie as newly acquainted man-child step brothers are also legendary. As they are forced to live in the same room because their parents’ marry they go through the childish steps of hating each other for no reason at all, to realizing they have everything in common and become best friends. Then they are forced to get a job. Mix in a late 80’s Billy Joel cover band and you have your 2nd best Will Farrell Comedy.
